We Support New Leash On Life Rescue

New Leash On Life Rescue is one of the programs that Global Paws For Peace supports. It is dedicated to caring for homeless pets in our communities and has a mission of keeping dogs off death row by finding and placing them into fosters, no kill shelters or adoption. It is our goal to create awareness and prevent euthanizing of all dogs and animals. They not only support the bully breeds they also believe in unity and have a mission of helping all dogs and animals alike. Currently, the rescue has been founded and ran by Edna Roberts who is known as the “Angel Dog Lady!” She has devoted her life with a 24/7 calling to recusing dogs and all animals that are in need. Her passion and love for all creatures is her driving force that keeps her going to do whatever it takes to keep all animals safe and secure. Through foster care programs, animals are placed in a safe and healthy home until they find their forever home. Also helping support this foster care program is board memeber Sheryl Guffey who was personally rescued off her own death bed, by her own dog. This inspired her to move on a 30 acre property in order to house and support fosters. To date she has fostered more than 100 dogs and she is known as the “Litter Baby Momma” she has fostered multiple litters that have needed tender loving care and she has personally nursed many puppies that have needed special attention during their first few weeks of life. She is also certified to train dogs for emotional therapy. Together these two women make a great team as they put their burning desires to do what it takes to take care of those animals in need!

Rescue Mission

New Leash On Life Rescue’s #1 goal to allow all animals a second chance and offering a “New Leash On Life” by placing dogs in fosters, no-kill shelters or helping to find their forever family and a loving life. It is our mission to offer medical assistance for shots, as well as, emergency funds for injured pets, food, kennels & shelter to those in need. We also support animals in need of spay and neutering to prevent unwanted births and deaths to future off springs. We help pets in our county with not only temporary supplies of food to families suffering hardship, warm housing for dogs and pets in need of outdoor shelter. Edna also helps to transport canines and have placed them in homes across the states. New Leash On Life collect donations for housing for its programs: “Castles 4 Canines” which provides dog houses to those in need. Castles 4 Canines is happy to announce its new addition, Stray Cat Cottages. Kitties need to stay warm as well so we offer new homes to them as well. They will be made out of styrofoam and regular coolers, whatever is most available. Donations will be kindly appreciated so we can continue to help many more cats stay warm as well.

We have a future vision of creating a dog food pantry and education to help assist with more families in need to help them keep their animals rather than placing them in pounds.

About The Founder of New Leash On Life

Edna Roberts has always had a love for dogs and animals. Several years ago, she and her husband sold their home and moved to an area that allowed them to house their 6 Labrador Retrievers. It was nearly six years ago when her life forever changed. You might say a four legged angel entered her life. She found a stray pit mix that was in need and she cared for him thinking she would find his owner, what she didn’t realize at the time, is that this angel, she calls Blade actually found her. Her love for this dog ignited a spark that already existed inside her soul and she began training with him and gaining her own understanding of the bully breed dog. It was through this her deep bond and connection with Blade that sent her on a mission that has not only forever changed her life; but the lives of so many other four legged fur animals that always seem to have a Divine way of finding their way into her life. Since that time all of her labs, which lived long and happy lives, have crossed the rainbow bridge. All except one that is now elderly whom she still deeply loves and takes care of because she took a vow to take care of him in sickness and in health. Over the last six years, she has now come to love and own 5 Pit Bulls and 1 American Staffordshire. Her passion and drive for helping to support not only her own fur children but for the lives of so many. She has become known as the “Angel Dog Lady” and she has devoted her life 24/7 to doing whatever it takes to not only keep dogs off death row but also to offer medical support, food and warm housing to dogs in our communities. She also transports animals to wherever is necessary to make sure that an animal is safe, sound and feels loved and wanted. She is founder of New Leash For Life Rescue and serves on the board for Global Paws For Peace.
